We are so pleased that you took the time to connect with us. If this is your first visit, we trust that you will discover what we are all about and what we are doing as Advent Christians. If you are a regular visitor, you will notice some changes and added services. Our desire is to keep you informed and in touch with what we offer to you in service through our offices. At the same time, we have provided links to many of our partners in ministry and posted some of the latest news from our ministries around the world. As you learn about some of our special projects, scheduled events, resources we provide and prayer concerns, please consider all this as an invitation to become better connected and more involved with us in serving Christ Jesus as Lord.

From Ron Thomas July 23, 2008 |
A week ago, I sat in an internet café in Macuelizo, Honduras, attempting to send an article for the E-news from the field. The effort failed. So here we are, a week later, reporting what might be thought of as old news. The first week’s team in Honduras numbered 18, representing AC churches from Alabama, Florida, Maine, Massachusetts, North Carolina and Nova Scotia, Canada. The outreach took the team into schools, homes and local churches as they distributed food, clothing, medical care, school supplies and Bibles. The fellowship and worship with churches strengthened the working relationship Cristo Salva has with the people within the Santa Barbara Region of Honduras.
Seven of us returned home on Monday, July 21, while those remaining, plus one more who arrived on the day we left, continue the outreach for a second week. Yesterday, I received a telephone call to inform me that Adalaida Alvarez, a 92-year-old lady we visited recently, is critically ill. We were asked to pray for her, as she has been a long-time friend of Cristo Salva and a committed worker for the cause of Christ's kingdom. Please pray for the team as they minister to her during this most difficult time. Also pray that the team's work will go forward with success and safety.

IF Update July 23, 2008 |
Driving is something I do a great deal of, so I’m always on the look-out for new things. Quite often, it’s while I’m driving that I see or, in some cases, hear things for the first time.
Recently, I purchased a GPS unit that has a woman speak the directions, road by road and turn by turn, as you drive (I still can’t figure out how they got her into such a small box!). Nevertheless, there’s a point to this. As I was driving along the other day, I heard her say something that caught my attention. She said, “continue across the saint line and turn right at the next intersection, which is . . . ” I immediately wondered (in a spiritual sense) what the “saint line” was and how does one know when they have crossed it. |

World Outreach Update July 23, 2008 |
 FROM THE ASIA/PACIFIC AREA DIRECTOR
For the last year or so we have written a lot about the beginning of the orphanage at Mati in the Philippines. So far, there’s one child in residence, with six more in readiness while we wait for paperwork to be completed. Though the orphanage plays a major role in our plans for extending the kingdom of God in the Philippines, there are four other aspects of the ministry in Mati that are equally exciting. For instance, there are 25 young men and women living on the site who are in training as Christian leaders. Some will work in the orphanage, others will minister in the community. |
